Today is Basant Panchami, also celebrated in eastern India as Saraswati pooja. It marks the beginning of Basant ritu (spring season) and falls on Magh Shukla Panchami. It is believed that Devi Saraswati was born on this day and hence Basant Panchmi is also known as Shri Panchami, Saraswati Panchami or Saraswati Jayanti. On this day Goddess Saraswati is worshipped in various names and fames - the Goddess of Learning, the deity of Gayatri, the fountain of fine arts and science, symbol of supreme vedantic knowledge and symbol of Purity.
It is believed that it was she who discovered amrit in the Himalayas. Being Brahma's wife, it is she who provides the means for execution of Brahma’s creative intelligence. Maa Saraswati is the goddess of all the creative learning, science, poetry, music and arts.
May Maa Shaarade bless you and us all and enlighten our lives…
