Agreed! I am not been able to write regularly! With all the hectic schedules and travelling, it been a while to settle down. Recently while searching for some self reading material on the internet, came across a blog that invites people to write your own obituary. Take a look. Now what the heck is that?
It is a different way to of getting to know yourself and finding a direction from your thoughts but that’s about you. Trying to picture yourself in future, your legacy and what people may think of yourself are good pointers to help seek a direction but when you are in your own mood, in your own dimension, does it really help? I don’t know and don’t seek it either but will leave it to you to decide. After all, it is your search for yourself!
This brings me to another thought about a hugely popular novel by Robert Ludlum – Bourne Identity. This novel was also about one trying to find himself in this complex world of politics, treachery and complex web of emotion. That book was supposedly an action packed thriller but when I read it, it helped me realized many concepts of life and truth about me. But as Salman Khan says in Ready, Zindagi me teen kabhi underestimate nahin karna – I, me and myself! (Never underestimate three things in life – I, me and myself). There are means and then there are means! Take what you like, what interests you and get on with it.
BTW I read the Bourne Identity in one sitting without break – so interesting, fast paced and action packed! If you haven’t read the book, suggest you do. You will not be disappointed. If you want a summary, click here
Hi Ranjan...
ReplyDeleteWonder if you saw the movie (all 3 parts). The series of movies based on this book is one of my favorites...
Obituary.. well.. what comes to my mind is Covey's book "7 habits of highly effective people." There he suggests "Begin with the end in mind." Thinking about that does change your perspective, so I understand the mention of "write your own obituary," something I am not comfortable doing ;)

Yes Ravi, have all 4 books and saw the movies... but somehow I felt that movie don't do justice to the books but then this usually the case...
ReplyDeleteWhen I said 4, I meant the trilogy and 1st in series by EVL.
